Malaria Summit
53 Commonwealth nations have taken the bold, political action for: a commitment to halve malaria in the Commonwealth by 2023.
This is a momentous leap in the fight against humankind’s oldest and deadliest disease that kills a child every two minutes. Halving malaria in the Commonwealth over the next five years will save 650,000 lives and prevent 350 million cases.
In this regard financial, political and scientific commitments totalling £2.9 billion ($4.1 billion) made at the Malaria Summit London 2018. There was no India representative to participate in the summit .
Criticism
1- Right from the beginning it’s a undemocratic organization it head is always British crown.
2. It is by nature a feudal organization and a democratic sovereign country like India it is a debatable issue whether to continue with this organization or not.
3. it’s a huge organization with only verbal duals with a very slow and sorry state of commission.
Favor
1- This is a useful platform for dialogues with country like U.K., Australia.
2-There is an fraternity among common wealth nation it can be helpful to fight with the terrorism by dialogues.
3- Suspension from the Commonwealth of Nations is the most serious punishment that can be administered to members of the Commonwealth.
