Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) –

Is an Indian central public sector undertaking and the largest government-owned power generation equipment manufacturer.

 It is owned by the Government of India, with administrative control by the Ministry of Heavy Industries. Established in 1956 with the help of Soviet technology, BHEL is based in New Delhi.

It received MAHARATNA Status in 2013.

As of 2017, equipment supplied by BHEL constituted around 55% of the total installed power generation capacity in India. The company also supplies electric locomotives to the Indian Railways and defence equipment such as the Super Rapid Gun Mount (SRGM) naval guns manufactured in partnership with the Ordnance Factory Board and simulators to the Indian Armed Forces.

Vande Bharat Trains supply-

In 2022, BHEL and Titagarh Wagons are supplying 80 Vande Bharat Trains at the rate of 120 crore per train to Indian Railways.

 In 2023, Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) and Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) have entered into an MoU to jointly pursue business opportunities in the area of nuclear power plants based on Pressurized Heavy Water Reactor (PHWR) technology.

 BHEL is the company to be actively associated with all the three stages of the Indian Nuclear Programme (1st Stage PHWR, 2nd Stage FBR and 3rd Stage AHWR-Advanced heavy-water reactor).

About 65% of the total sugarcane area of MP is in Narsinghpur district (approximately 75000 ha). It is termed as the sugar bowl of Madhya Pradesh

In Madhya Pradesh, the first sugar mill was established in 1934 in Jwara (Ratlam).

 Sugar factories have been set up include Shivpur, Narayanpura, Kareli (financial capital of the district Narsinghpur), Babai, Banapura, Timami, Betul, Sanawad, Bhorawah, Navalnagar, and Nepanagar.

 Madhya Pradesh is the 5 th  largest cotton producer in India.

MP Incubation & Startup Policy 2016

 

MP Incubation & Startup Policy 2016 is formulated with 3 core policy focus areas which are required for a startup to grow as an enterprise.

 

These are as follows:

i. Availability of ‘Plug & Play’ Incubation Facility

ii. Funding Support &Incentives .

iii. Startup Handholding On the basis of these policy focus areas, MP Incubation & Startup

-The state government would provide thrust on establishing Incubation Centres within …Engineering Colleges, …….Management Institutes and…… Professional Colleges across Madhya Pradesh to provide ‘Plug & Play’ model facilities to young budding entrepreneurs/students.

These Incubation Centres shall be promoted to develop an Innovative Incubation Network to build a collaborative platform among Host Institutes/Incubators which can be used to learn the best practices and understand the requirements of startups/entrepreneurs.

-Selected Institutes shall be encouraged to host incubators in their area of discipline or expertise. An online portal shall be developed to bring all the state based Incubators on a single network platform.

 

-This network shall also provide a platform to identify National/ International mentors from academia or Industry.

 

 This Incubation Network shall play a vital role in providing handholding to startups in Identifying funding support, assistance in legal compliance and regulatory support from Government.

 

Angel Investors/Venture Capitalist Network

The identification and selection of an Angel Investor/Venture Capitalist plays a critical role in the journey of any Startup.

Therefore state government shall encourage statewide Angel Investors/Venture Capitalist to form a network so that it can bridge the divide between startup and their early stage required funding support.

This shall help in building conducive and sustainable startup ecosystem within the state.

 This Network shall also play a role of an ‘Accelerator’ for Startups in the state.

Incentives-

INR 10,000per month for period of 1 year or till start-up reaches post-traction period (whichever is less), will be released as sustenance allowance after 3 months of joining a partner incubator.

The Madhya Pradesh Start-up Policy-2022

 

The Madhya Pradesh Start-up Policy was launched by PM Modi during the Madhya Pradesh Start-up Conclave that was being held in Indore on the 14th of May 2022.

The launch was done by the PM via video conference.

This portal will help facilitate and promote the start-up ecosystem of the state.

 

Aims of Madhya Pradesh’s Start-up Policy– 2022

The  aim is to promote start-ups in the state and encouraging the state’s budding entrepreneurs. This policy has been developed with the objective of strengthening and bringing the entrepreneurial ideas of the state’s youth to reality.

How many start-ups are are in M.P.?

In the state, there are 1,937 start-ups that have been recognized by the government and out of these 45 per cent are being run by women.

What is the Start-up centre?

In the new start-up policy, there is a concept of “MP Start-up Centre.”(GTB Complex.TTNagar ,Bhopal) .

This centre will have a dedicated office, a mentor as well as experts for every start-up, who will be helping the start-up community of the state to grow.

 

-Rent-Rs-5000.

If a new enterprise is running in a rented accommodation, the state government will give rs 5,000 per month for rent.

 

- Monthly salary allowance of Rs 5,000 per employee-

 The selected startup will be given a for a maximum of 25 employees.

Mukhya Mantri Swarojgar Yojana -2014

Is being implemented by the Madhya Pradesh government to establish self-employment for the educated unemployed.

 In which loan cases can be prepared for industry / service / business, since currently online applications are accepted in the scheme and loan cases are sent online to banks for approval.

 Loan from50 thousand to 10 lakh -

Loans can be obtained in this scheme up to a ….maximum limit of 50 thousand to 10 lakh.
 

-Margin money (grant)

 

-Maximum amount of 30 percent margin money (grant) is given to women applicants belonging to SC / ST / Backward class / minority and general category,

- 15 percent margin money (grant) to general category applicants.

 

 

MukhyamantriArthik Kalyan Yojana 2021

The poorest section of the society will be provided with …low cost equipment and working capital for setting up business.

Through this working capital, the citizens of the state will be able to start their own business.

Maximum Loan-

The project cost under the scheme will be up to a maximum of Rs 50 thousand.

Margin Money:-

50 percent of the project cost (maximum Rs. 15000/-)

Beneficiary:

The applicant should be a backward class and a native of Madhya Pradesh.

The applicant must be at least literate.

The age of the applicant should be between 18 to 55 years.

 

World level weapon production unit-2017

The world level weapon production unit “PunjLyodDefence System” in MalanpurIndustrial Area of …..Bhind district.

 

The state government claims that it is the first small weapon manufacturing unit in private sector in the country.

It has been set up in joint partnership of……PunjLyod and…Israel Weapon Industry under the Make in India Programme.

 

India's biggest Global Skill Park

India's biggest ……Global Skill Park to be developed in Bhopal.


This Park will be developed around 37 acres for Rs. 645 crore. 1000 students will be imparted training every year in the park. The trainers will be world-class. Trained students will be given placement in India as well as outside India at international level.

India's longest railway bridge

Katni in Madhya Pradesh will have India's longest railway bridge, ..14 km on the up line, almost three and half times …..longer than ……Vembanad rail bridge in Kerala that connects Edappally and Vallarpadam in Kochi and is …..4.62 km long.


Called Katni grade separator, down line of the bridge would be of 7 km. Its total length would be 21 km up and down side.

 Design and survey of the bridge has been completed and it will take 5 years for completion.
 

First modern weapon training centre

The….Indo Tibetan Border Police’s (ITBP)…first modern weapon training centre in Madhya Pradesh will be established in ………Batiagarh area ….Damoh “ITBP’s Weapon and Support Weapon Training Centre will be the first of its kind in the state .

The centre will be set up at an estimated cost of ……Rs. 2,100 crore in an area spreading across 1,800 acres between Batigarh and Fatehgarh.

 

1st international commercial flight from Madhya Pradesh

Indore, the commercial capital of Madhya Pradesh recently made it to international aviation map with national carrier Air India launching its flight service to Dubai from MP Airport.

 

Air India Flight AI903 took wings from Indore’s Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar International Airport with 150 passengers on.

This was the 1st international commercial flight from Madhya Pradesh.

Key Highlights

The non-stop flight fulfilled long-standing desire from travel fraternity and tourists for direct connectivity to Gulf region. This flight will also improve Dubai’s business relationship with Indore.

Air India is operating 162-seater A-320 Neo aircraft on Indore-Dubai route.

It will fly directly to Dubai on every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday while return flight from Dubai will be on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.

 

Two new NIDs

Two new NIDs inaugurated at Bhopal and Jorhat –

 National Institutes of Design (NID) at Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh and Jorhat in Assam were inaugurated by Union Minister of Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation, Suresh Prabhu. •

They are autonomous institutions and under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

 In order to promote design programs, was given by National Design Policy (2007), four new NIDs have been set up in Andhra Pradesh (Amaravati), Assam (Jorhat), Madhya Pradesh (Bhopal) and Haryana (Kurukshetra) with a total outlay of Rs. 434 crores.

New NCLT benches in Madhya Pradesh

The Government approved the establishment of two new benches of National Company Law Tribunal

(NCLT), at Amaravati in Andhra Pradesh and Indore in Madhya Pradesh in view of the increasing caseload,

 Currently, Andhra Pradesh comes under the Jurisdiction of NCLT Bench at Hyderabad and Madhya

Pradesh comes under the jurisdiction of NCLT Bench, Ahmedabad.

 The NCLT, which has been set up under the Companies Act, 2013, has provided an effective and time-

bound adjudication mechanism to deal with matters related to the Companies Act, 2013, the Insolvency and

Presently, 16 numbers of NCLT Benches have been established, including the Principal BenchinNewDelhi, and three recently set up benches at Jaipur, Kochi and Cuttack.

The Bhopal Declaration was released after a two-day meeting of Think-20 under G20 in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.

 The Declaration was made by more than 300 intellectuals from India and abroad.

It was created in 2012 to bring the expertise of think tanks from around the world to bear on the G20’s policy-making process, and it meets annually in the lead-up to the G20 summit

 

Madhya Pradesh Global Investors Summit-2023

The GIS at Indore has  a holistic overview of the top sectors of Madhya Pradesh, including investible projects, opportunity landscape and government incentives.

 

 It was compiled by the IIG (India Investment Grid)and SIRU(Strategic Investment and Research Unit) team in collaboration with the MP Industrial Development Corporation and other state departments.

Over 2,600 meetings took place in two days, where more than 5,000 business entities/ investors/ entrepreneurs joined.

 

The session highlighted the importance of India’s Prime Minister's vision of 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' and the journey of the Government of India behind introducing these schemes and how this move has improved the manufacturing landscape of the country.

It also delved into how private sectors view these PLI schemes as part of their internal strategy and how it has helped them firm up their India manufacturing plans.

 

Furthermore, it focused on investments received by the State of MP under this scheme and the role played by the government of MP to attract high value investments in food processing, pharma, and textile sectors.  

 

Mr. Anurag Jain, Secretary, DPIIT, Government of India also unveiled the report titled "Madhya Pradesh: Opportunities Abound" at the session.

 

 The report was created by India Investment Grid (IIG) team, in partnership with the Strategic Investment and Research Unit (SIRU) at Invest India.

 

It provides investors with a holistic overview of the top sectors of Madhya Pradesh, including investible projects, opportunity landscape and government incentives.

 

It was compiled by the IIG and SIRU team in collaboration with the MP Industrial Development Corporation and other state departments.

 

Madhya Pradesh got total investments of Rs. 15,42,550 crores during the Global Investors Summit, 2023.

 

Stakeholders from agriculture, textile, automobile, plastic and other sectors took part in the sessions.

 

 

Towns of Export Excellence (TEE)

Towns producing goods of Rs. 750 Crore or more can be recognised as Towns of Export Excellence (TEE) based on potential for growth in exports.

However, for Town of Export Excellence (TEE) in Handloom, Handicraft, Agriculture and Fisheries sector, the threshold limit is Rs. 150 Crore.

The e-procurement portal in Madhya Pradesh

The e-procurement portal in Madhya Pradesh is known as the Madhya Pradesh e-Procurement System (MPeP). It is an online platform that facilitates procurement processes for various government departments and agencies in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India.

 The MPeP portal enables vendors and suppliers to participate in government tenders, submit bids, and carry out other procurement-related activities electronically.

One District One Product. (ODOP).

 One District One Product Scheme is an initiative that is seen as a transformational step forward towards realizing the true potential of a district, fuel economic growth, and generate employment and rural entrepreneurship, taking us to the goal of AtmaNirbhar Bharat.

  • This scheme is basically a Japanese business development concept, which gained prominence in 1979.
  • It is aimed at promoting a competitive and staple product from a specific area to push sales and improve the standard of living of the local population.
  • Over time, it has been replicated in other Asian countries as well.
  • In India, Uttar Pradesh government was the first state of India to launch the concept of One District One Product in 2018.

Components of the Scheme: 

  • Identify one product per district based on the potential and strength of a district and national priorities
  • Develop a cluster for that product in the district which is capable of producing a world-class product with quality, scalability, and a brand
  • Provide market linkages
  • Address bottlenecks for exporting these products
  • Support local exporters/manufacturers to scale up manufacturing
  • Find potential buyers outside India with the aim of promoting exports
  • Promoting manufacturing & services industry in the District
  • Generate employment in the District

  • The digital ODOP map provides detailed information about ODOP products to all states and facilitates the stakeholders.
  • The digital map also has indicators for tribal, SC, ST, and aspirational districts.
  • It will enable stakeholders to make concerted efforts for its value chain development.
