Seasons of Madhya Pradesh - मध्य प्रदेश की ऋतुएँ

  1. P is situated at the heart of country. That's why it is blessed with all.. 5 seasons found in India.

Madhya Pradesh has a subtropical climate .

The subtropical zones

The subtropical zones or subtropics are geographical and climate zones to the north and south of the tropics. Geographically part of the temperate zones of both hemispheres, they cover the middle latitudes from 23°26′10.2″ (or 23.43616°) to approximately 35° north and south. The horse latitudes lie within this rang

Subtropical climates, are found in regions between the Tropics and the Temperate Zones , typically between 25 and 35 degrees latitude in both hemispheres.

These regions have warmer temperatures than the mid-latitudes, but they are not as consistently hot as tropical regions.

We can also say the Climate of MP as Monsoon climate .A monsoon is a seasonal change in the direction of the prevailing, or strongest, winds of a region. Monsoons cause wet and dry seasons throughout much of the tropics.

The average rainfall is about 1,370 mm (53.9 in). It decreases from east to west

The reasons forchanges in season of MP are-

  1. Revolution around Sun.
  2.  Earth's tilt at 231/2º.

The climate in MP is decided by following factors

i.Distance from Sea.

ii. Presence of Physical barrier in way of Monson e.g. Ranges of Satpura,Vindhyachal

iii. Angle of these physical barriers from path of monsoon.

iv. Distance from tropic of Cancer.

v. Height from mean sea level.

Major seasons are as follows

1.Winter-

In MP it is known as Syala. Its reason is the southern transit of sun rays &going towards tropic of Capricorn.

It is in the month of Nov to Feb.

In this season, in Number of placesfog& mist is seen.

Although this is dry weather, but in season there is rain in MP known as 'Mavtha'.

Reason of this rain can be North-East monsoon or western disturbances.

Around month of October during day time, the inhabitants of MP feel heat, it is known as October heat. Its main reason is,high moisture &delay of vaporization of sweat.

Madhya Pradesh’s vulnerability to climate change

-Madhya Pradesh is considered to be highly vulnerable to the effects of climate change.

- Droughts and floods already occur frequently, with some parts of the State experiencing drought almost every

-Forest degradation, loss of biodiversity and the pollution of rivers and wetlands are all being observed, which decrease the natural resilience of ecosystems to climate extremes and natural disasters.

-Climate change is introducing additional socioeconomic and environmental stresses on top of those already being felt, making Madhya Pradesh particularly vulnerable to its impacts.
