2 -What is the pattern of State Civil Services Exams ?

The first step towards State Civil Services is to familiarize yourself with the pattern of the examination.

3 - What is the Age Criteria for Civil Services?

-The age limit for MP PSC State Service Exam for General and Reserved Categories:

  • Minimum age– 21 years
  • Maximum age– 35 years (For permanent residents of MP) and 30 years (For others)

The MP PSC notification has listed the age relaxation for different categories/posts in the State Service exam eligibility:

-Currently, the number of attempts for MPPSC exam for all the categories are unlimited depending upon the maximum age limit .

5 - Does the Filling the form make an attempt for MP Civil Services Exam ?

-Filling the form doesn’t make an attempt.

6 - What is the Success rate for State civil services ?

- 0.1 % to 0.2% .

7 - What is the Qualification Criteria for civil services?

- The educational qualificationfor the PSC exam is:

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from any recognised University or equivalent qualification

Candidates possessing professional and technical qualifications, which are recognized by the State Government as equivalent to a professional or technical degree

The PSC exam eligibility also includes Physical Measurements/Fitness for certain posts. Candidates have to undergo a medical test after the interview to be considered eligible.

There are following 2 papers in pre exam.

Duration: Two Hours

Number of Questions: 100.

-Minimum – 40% in each Paper , Sc/St- Min – 30 %


-Nature of paper I & II - Only Qualifying in nature .

Each paper will have 100 questions, and each right attempt will be awarded 2 marks.

There is no negative marking in the prelims exam of MPPSC state services .

-What is generally the Cut Off For MPPSC Prelims?

-Cut off in the year 2018 for Gen category was 138/200.

Stage -2… Mains Examination –

- Written Examination - The Written examination will consist of 6 papers of conventional essay type questions.

-Candidate has to write answer in the sheet of following pattern -

-What is the Cut Off For MPPSC Civil services mains?

In MPPSC the Cutoff in 2017 Gen category was 741/1400 (53%) for OBC it was 720/1400 (51%) .

Stage -3… Personality Test ( Interviews)-

The Interview or Personality Test carries 175 marks, and the candidates will be assessed in multiple aspects.

There is no cutoff for Interview.

-What is Personality test for Civil Services ?

-The main aim of taking personality test is to know the overall personality of the candidate and traits of the candidate like their confidence, honesty, intellectual, integrity, understanding ground realities and depth of understanding of various concepts.

-What is the Final Cut Off For MPPSC ?

The candidates who qualify in the MPPSC main exam are called for the MPPSC personality test.

The MPPSC interview is of 175 marks, so the final MPPSC cut off is derived for the maximum marks of 1575.

Going through the last five year papers (at least 5 years) will familiarize you with the kind of questions asked in the examination.

-Skelton… make a Skelton before answer writing.

-Impact- Social, Political, Economical, Cultural.

You must see to it that your answer should not exceed the word count or spill over the box given as you may be penalized for any such lapses.
